A Grand, Fashion-Forward Wedding at Loews Coral Gables

Set against the dramatic architecture of Loews Coral Gables, this wedding was equal parts romance, fashion and grandeur.

The venue itself became part of the story. Sweeping staircases, soaring columns, pale stone, arched passageways and grand interior spaces created an old-world backdrop with a distinctly modern edge. The result felt cinematic from the start — elegant without being overly traditional, and refined without feeling restrained.

The bride’s look was a standout. Her lace gown featured a sculpted silhouette, high neckline and intricate long sleeves, giving the look a sense of vintage romance while still feeling current. Against the soft architectural tones of the hotel and the city views beyond, the gown photographed with an almost European quality.

A rich palette of plum, burgundy, blush and ivory carried throughout the celebration. Bridesmaids wore deep plum gowns in complementary silhouettes, while the florals layered soft hydrangea, roses and delicate white blooms with darker wine-toned accents and sculptural calla lilies. The contrast gave the design depth and made the softer elements feel even more romantic.

The ceremony space was striking in its simplicity. Gold chairs, soft white draping and floral installations framed the aisle without competing with the scale of the room. Crystal chandeliers overhead and the symmetry of the architecture added an immediate sense of occasion.

For the reception, the design became more dramatic. Tall floral arrangements, low layered centerpieces, taper candles and gold candelabras filled the rotunda, while sheer draping softened the columns and upper balconies. Subtle uplighting and candlelight transformed the space as the evening progressed, creating a warm, almost theatrical atmosphere.

One of the most memorable design moments was the grand staircase, styled with cascading olive-toned fabric, abundant florals and candlelight. It felt less like décor and more like an installation — dramatic, romantic and perfectly suited to the scale of the venue.

The tablescapes continued the editorial feel with layered glassware, neutral linens, gold accents and lush florals. Small details such as dried citrus, fruit and richly toned botanical elements added a painterly quality, giving the reception the feel of a modern still life.

As dinner gave way to dancing, the mood shifted from refined to electric. A live band brought the reception to life, filling the grand rotunda with energy as guests moved onto the dance floor. The contrast between the formal architecture and the uninhibited celebration made the evening feel especially dynamic.

Grand but never impersonal, this Loews Coral Gables wedding balanced statement-making design with intimate, expressive moments. It was romantic, polished and visually rich — a celebration that felt timeless while still distinctly editorial.
